FESTIVAL of THREE VILLAGES

Alton Barnes, Alton Priors & Honeystreet

Midsummer Weekend   June 20 & 21  2015
Celebrating the forthcoming restoration of St Mary’s church, Alton Barnes.

There will be a donations box at each event (apart from the Barn Dance and Hog Roast)
All proceeds with be shared between the
Church Maintenance fund, The Coronation Hall
the village 
Defibrillator fund and the Altons Springs maintenance fund.


Saturday 20 June

Treasure Hunt for all ages. Through all three villages 10am - 12 Noon. A gentle 1 Hour stroll through the three villages looking for clues to the secret Treasure.
Start at the Coronation Hall. Suitable for all ages.

Inter-village Tug of War. 1.00 pm at The Barge Inn, Honeystreet.
Drummers will be there to enhance the acoustics and atmosphere !

Race up to Adam's Grave. Adults & Children. 3pm
 Medals to be won! Starting at cross roads (See Map).

Fly a Kite. Kite flying for all.
Meet at the Coronation Hall at 2.30 or make your way to Adam’s Grave when you see the Kites flying.

Sunday 21 June

Midsummer Solstice Celebrations at the Springs
Consecration & History of these ancient Springs by local Druids.  
Between the villages of Alton Barnes and Alton Priors are The Broad Well/Seething Well. (See Map)
Gather 12 noon at the northern edge of the Springs.
Everybody is welcome to witness this colourful and unique Ceremony at the Blessing and Honouring of our
ancient Springs on this day of the Summer Solstice.  As part of the Celebration there will be
village musicians and singers along with words from local historians.
Dress as you wish, please bring flowers or ribbons if you can, maybe add some to your hair?
